Boxer Vincent Keaveny, raised $13,319 for Suffolk County Sherriff’s Foundation and TIKVA
Melville, N.Y. (Nov. 20, 2023) – Long Island resident Vincent Keaveny, managing director and private client advisor at Bank of America Private Bank, raised $13,319 for the Suffolk County Sheriff’s Foundation and TIKVA — an orphanage in Ukraine — during the 18th annual Long Island Fight for Charity on Monday, November 20th. Long Island Fight for Charity is the nation’s only all-volunteer charity boxing event.
Boxers who entered the event — which attracted more than 1,500 supporters — committed to fundraise $10,000 for charities in need on Long Island. In total, the event raised more than $150,000. The Suffolk County Sheriff’s Foundation’s mission is to support community-based programming to reduce incidents of crime and recidivism, improve outcomes for at-risk individuals, and build positive relationships with members of law enforcement. The Suffolk County Sheriff’s Foundation works closely with the Suffolk County Sheriff’s Office to build a stronger community.
During the boxing event, Keaveny also boxed to raise funds for TIKVA (which means Hope in Hebrew) — an orphanage in Ukraine.
Keaveny participated in Long Island Fight for Charity to be an example for his own children and youth on Long Island about the importance of giving back to others and helping those in need.
Long Island Fight for Charity is a 501(c)3 nonprofit organization co-founded by Jamie Austin, Jeff Cohen and Matt Silver in 2022, initially as a fundraising effort to seed the Long Island Community Chest, a charity with a mission to help individuals and families in need.
Since its inception in 2003, more than 400 volunteer boxers have participated in Long Island Fight for Charity and the event has collected nearly $2 million for local charities.
