Boxer Vincent Keaveny, raising funds for Suffolk County Sherriff’s Foundation, to set example for children about importance of being charitable
Melville, N.Y. (Sept. 14, 2023) – Long Island resident Vincent Keaveny, managing director and private client advisor at Bank of America Private Bank, will step into the ring during the 18th annual Long Island Fight for Charity and will raise funds for the Suffolk County Sheriff’s Foundation.
Long Island Fight for Charity, the nation’s only all-volunteer charity boxing event, will be held on Monday, Nov. 20 at the Hilton Long Island.
Boxers who enter the event — which attracts more than 1,200 supporters — commit to raising $10,000 for charities in need on Long Island.
The Suffolk County Sheriff’s Office combines its work with the Suffolk County Sheriff’s Foundation to build a stronger community.
The Suffolk County Sheriff’s Foundation’s mission is to support community-based programming to reduce incidents of crime and recidivism, improve outcomes for at-risk individuals, and build positive relationships with members of law enforcement.
Keaveny is also fighting for TIKVA (which means Hope in Hebrew) — an orphanage in Ukraine. Long Island Fight for Charity is a 501(c)3 nonprofit organization co-founded by Jamie Austin, Jeff Cohen and Matt Silver in 2022, initially as a fundraising effort to seed the Long Island Community Chest, a charity with a mission to help individuals and families in need.
Since 2022, more than 400 volunteer boxers have participated in Long Island Fight for Charity and more than $1.7 million has been raised for local charities.
